If the initial question was if you drive your car in snow and on salt treated roads will you get more rust then I can assure you the answer is YES. Dan
If you are set on doing it. I'd reccomend some real studded snows on a dedicated set of 7" or 8" wide wheels. Adjust the springs bolts up as high as they can go while still being alignable. And put some sand bags in the hatch. As far as rust goes, look for somewhere that can krown or fluid film or new Hampshire oil the underside. That should help keep most of the rust at bay.
If you can bum a ride to work on actual snow days that setup should get you where you need to go for the rest of winter.
My car has 54k ish miles on it and its got rust on the frame where it makes the turn under the battery. It's not visible unless you get under the car and really get up close. It's on both sides and the car seems to be babied during it's life based on condition. Also have a little rust on the metal bar that extends off the front of the car that holds up the air dam.
I wouldn't drive one of these in the snow. Wide tires and low to the ground is the opposite of snow machine design. Why not get a beater truck or Subaru?
