We bought an 86 corvette that hasn’t been driven in years and their is no key for the ignition but it has the vats. Is there anyway to delete that? We have been to the dealer and everything with no success. Any help would be appreciated. Also any picture of the wiring in the interior would be great as well all the interior was pulled out!

There is a search function at the top of the page. Once you get the hang of it, you could probably read about VATS problems and workarounds from now until Christmas.
I've got a bypass on mine but you need to know the key code to order one. You can find out the key code from the dealer with your VIN and I think a title or registration. Also you can program the VATS out by having a chip burned. Advanced search is your friend. PS check your inbox.

We have been to the dealer with the title and VIN and they are unable to help because when they put the vin in it brings up all 15 possibilities since this was the first year of the vats system

As I said the first time, your answer is in the search. There you will find information on how to find the correct pellet resistance.
You can buy a pack of resistors that have the various values the ECU is looking to see. Try them one at a time and you'll eventually find the one that gets you going.

What makes you 'so sure' this car has 'functional VATS'?
I had a problem with my VATS.
Not the key pellet part but the VATS system.
I went to www.newrockies.com
The whole system is replaced - I have never had a problem since
Used this on all 3 of my firebirds, my corvette and 3 other friends vette as well.
Have had it in my cars for over 8 years
Sounds nice (newrockies) but I bought a chip that installs as easily as this one claims to and was only $30, not the $250 they're charging. Also totally bypasses the VATS and haven't had any problems whatsoever.
Hardest part was taking off the dash cover, which isn't all that hard. Firefighter, if you search for my "name" you will see the conversation I had with a member that helped me install it. Couldn't have been simpler.
Good Luck!
