So is there any appreciable difference in the quality or fit of the muffler eliminators from Zips, Ecklers, Corvette Mods etc? Or do one of the site sponsors offer them?
And I know some of you will suggest having a shop just make them for me, but where I live I have never had a lot of luck with the auto repair shops in the area as far as being the greatest, nor do I think any of them would be that cheap. And last think I want is to be unhappy cause one is lower or higher some BS because i am very particular about stuff like that. Also i want to keep my current mufflers intact as much as possible in case I experience a drone I cannot stand.
Thanks in advance.
The straight eliminators with tips are all more or less identical. The only ones that are different are the ones that say chambered or quad power. I have the quad power from mid America on mine.

Go to a exhaust/muffler shop, not a general repair shop. Stick with the guys that do only exhaust every day, all day. I thought about buying the pre- fabbed eliminators like you are doing, but a quick trip to my local,(1 hour away), exhaust shop to ask about it, an hour after I got there I was leaving with eliminators on the car, my stock mufflers/pipes in the hatch, for the same cost as store bought eliminators, and I got to pick what tips i wanted instead of the only 2 choices from the pre made ones. And I can put my mufflers/pipes back on at home if I wanted too (but why would you???
There are no "exhaust" shops where I live (northern Michigan about 30 miles from bridge) other than one Midas, which I'm not sure is even still open. Maybe I will check with them in the spring.
Plus I want the factory style tips

Yup. On my old 88 I bought some Eliminators from one of the main Vette retailers (years ago), and just clamped them on. But when I got my 94 last year I just took it to a muffler shop and had them cut out the stock mufflers and install straight pipes (and reuse my existing tips). Cheaper than the store bought eliminators, and welded on instead of clamped. And if I ever want the stock mufflers back on, the process is easily reversed. Totally the way to go.

I bought the eliminators, but the shop I took them to for the install told me I should have saved the money and just let him weld in a pipe in place of the mufflers. I like the sound, but I did keep the OEM mufflers so it can be reversed if need be.

I have Ecklers muffler delete with LT1 tips for my ‘95. Unfortunately for your question they were on the car when I got it so I was not the one shopping around for them. However, I think they look great and sound great. I have heard that they yield a better sound than getting some sort of expensive exhaust system. I will say that mine can produce a drone especially when my windows are up. Apparently the reason why the stock exhaust is lower than could be expected is because Chevy had trouble eliminating drone.
