Wise forum members, I could use some help diagnosing a heater issue on my ‘95. LT-1 engine. I’m not getting much heat out of the heater. No error codes on the climate control system. Reads “00”. I checked visually that the blend door is moving, it is switching back and forth just fine and moves all the way to each side. Both hoses to the heater are getting hot, although I would say not that hot since I can hold onto them for a bit. The only other indication I get is the Low Coolant light comes on when there’s plenty of coolant in the system. It’s filled an inch above the cold low line on the tank. Light doesn’t stay on though. I’d like some suggestions before I start tearing it apart and replacing things at random.
Also, I’m not that familiar with these cars when new. The fan blower doesn’t seem to have much air flow to it. It’s not terrible, but certainly no whirlwind. Is that normal?
I for sure don't know about the 95 but in the engine compartment the air box can blow into the bay on mine anyways. What I am trying to say that air can leak out of the seals and heat/cool the engine bay. I had to reapply sealant around the ac lines to get my pressure. Just something to check out.

The reservoir in the front nose of the car is not what you should be checking. The black reservoir at the fire wall is where you fill, and where the low coolant level sensor is located.

Thank you for that! Makes sense. I’ll inspect that next. But it looks like my troubleshooting got cut short on this. As I was warming her up, she started slinging fluid droplets all over the place from the belt. Looks like a leak has started somewhere on the front left of the engine. My guess is power steering fluid line or pump but it’s going to take some disassembly to verify. Uggg.
Have you been able to disconnect the inlet and outlet hoses and back flush the core?
Haven’t tried that yet. Thanks for the idea! This car was sitting a lot over the years and probably never had the coolant changed since new. Wouldn’t surprise me if there is corrosion build up plugging it up.

Don't get carried away and try to use a pressure washer. Saw some idiot do that. Guess what happened? Hint, I should probably have given him a goldfish for his car.
