Black Gunk
Hi Guys, can any one tell me what this is, when I floor my 86 Vette particularly going up a hill what the black sooty gunk is spewing out from underneath the motor, not out the exhaust but from somewhere under the motor. Normal driving does not seem to produce this effect, any ideas anyone?

Not the dip stick tube Dan, just done an oil & filter change with a complete engine run oil flush so double oil change to get rid of the sludge the engine oil is now pristine.
I'm wondering if it could have come from the transmission, I'm assuming it has a vent or breather tube like most other transmissions.
I think Ill start there.

My 89 spewed black sooty gunk all over the garage floor every night, sometimes it got really upset, and dumped a half quart of power steering fluid on the floor too.
Cant say i miss that car.
