Sounds like a bunch of different issues all at once.

No crank, no fuel pump, no LCD points to your CCM not being plugged in, or not receiving power. It's the little computer that mounts above the transmission tunnel on the driver's side. It's behind a flap in the carpet.

Any dash lights coming on with the key off sounds like you didn't wire the ignition switch correctly when you put it back together.

All in all, sounds like you didn't put it back together correctly.

Disconnect the battery and Charge the battery and check battery voltage.

It sounds like you have a few problems.
Power going to gauges when key is off.
Other parts do not power on, when key is ON.

The Gauges on, when key is Off, sounds like a Missing Ground wire.
Start checking all of the Grounding points between the Dash and wiring harness.
Its most likely you missed a few re-connections or grounding straps.
I have never removed a c4 dash. Maybe some one else with first hand experience can jump in.

Do any lights work?
Check all of the cable connections between the dash and wiring harness.
Start checking fuses too.
After each debugging session, make sure you disconnect the battery each night.

Give detailed explanation of what all you removed on the dash.

Again, this symptom points to the CCM not communicating properly. Without the CCM working properly, you won't have a digital dash, you won't have the signal that tells the PCM to engage the injectors, you won't have the signal to activate the starter relay, etc.

Big huge wiring mess indeed.

Check your battery voltage daily just to make sure you are not discharging due to some stray short.
Read the threads about checking engine codes.
Keep good log notes.
Take it for a few short drives [Make sure you have someone to call to get you if you break down]
