Default Jacking Puck for C4

This seems obvious, so someone has probably done it before.

I work on cars a lot in my fairly small garage. I can't stand cars that need to be jacked in 4 locations. For Mustangs I've owned I've installed jacking rails so I can side jack them. So, I wanted an easy way to side jack the C4. I took the puck I've been using on my other cars and modified it.

To mod I drilled two holes and screwed it to a 2x4 that was square. I used another piece of wood to ensure the tabs that stick up are parallel to the bottom and top edge of the 2x4. Then I ran it through the table saw. Aluminum is easily worked with woodworking equipment if you take it slow. I did zing one of the magnets a little and saw a small spark. I guess it wasn't completely parallel so the end I set the blade height on was a little higher.

I made one side stick up a tiny bit and the other side below flush with the jacking surface. My theory was I could use the tab to hook the thing onto the jacking rail. That turned out to be unnecessary as the magnets take care of business. The thing will demand to be centered. I probably won't bother, but if I did it again I would make both sides slightly low.

What keeps the puck from sliding out from the rail? Trying to imagine, guess the rail would only "push out" when lowering.

I prefer ol' hockey puck myself. Do intend to sand down the rocker panel edge a bit where I jack, someday.
