1984 Callaway?
So long story short, I have a lead on a 1984 Corvette. The owner is 90 years old and can’t finish the restoration. He is asking $3500. I’m going to check it out tomorrow.
He claims that it is Callaway serial number 0005.
My question is, did Callaway make a Corvette in 84? I thought they were all 87 and newer. This either sounds too good to be true and the guy doesn’t know what he has.

There is no 84 Callaway. There was 1 '86 built and everything was 87 and newer

Back in March 2021, someone else asked the exact same questions. I will answer the same as back then:
No such car. RPO B2K for the Callaway Twin Turbo Option began in 1987, although one 1986 was built, as well.

Well this was interesting. I think someone tried to make a Callaway clone 30 years ago and the car has been rotting in the sun for at least 20. It did start thought.
What a steaming pile. I think that car has appeared online before and was shot down then, too. It's not a Callaway.
The Hood and Gas Door emblem inserts are legit appearing, and same with the one on the dash center which was installed on the rear bumper trim on 1987-Only Callaway Corvettes.
