Ncm insurance
First, OP, that you for considering us! We really do appreciate it!
Customers always receive a copy of the policy not only at policy inception, but also renewal. It is the complete policy showing what is covered and what is not.
Is this standard auto insurance? No. We are collector vehicle insurance insuring vehicles for car shows, club events, parades and the occasional pleasure use. We have a work endorsement that says the insured is able to drive to work up to 2 times per week.
Pleasure use can include: Going for a drive (rain or shine), taking your spouse to dinner, meeting a bunch of car buddies for breakfast, lunch, dinner, ice cream, parking lot bench racing, etc.
Now, to address the getting a gallon of milk or a wrench comment. If the original intent of the drive was pleasurable, then it is unrealistic for the insurance company to expect you to go home to get your daily use vehicle just to go back out and grab that needed wrench or gallon of milk.
After seeing millions and millions in claims paid I have seen claims denied for the following:
- On-track driving
- Renting vehicle to others
- being left outside with the keys in the vehicle overnight
I have never seen a claim denied for swinging into the store to grab milk or going for a cruise on a rainy day.
There are lots of posts on here from people who have seen the benefits of a collector vehicle insurance policy, please search.
Let me know if you have any specific questions. I will be very transparent with you. Our goal is to provide coverage not deny coverage.

I must respectfully disagree.
I have 2 Corvettes insured with NCM and have never received this information for either car, when I first signed up or upon renewal either. How can I get this “exclusion” information?
Thank You

I have not heard ONE single story about anyone being denied for any of the reasons people are sighting here. Yes, I have complete access to my policy documents from the online portal, I also asked for them to be emailed to me and received them, I also received an unsolicited copy with my renewal email. It mentions NOTHING about "you cannot go out to dinner with your wife, or ever be caught at a grocery store" or any such nonsense. No, I am not going to post the entirety of my policy document here because that's a legal agreement between me and my insurer, I can grab some excerpts and put them here (again this is Hagerty):
In my key fact sheet:
FLEXIBLE USAGE
Our custom designed policy doesn't restrict usage to just parades and car shows; we encourage you to drive your classic just for the fun of it.
From my policy (this is literally ALL that is mentioned about it being restricted use):
"Classic vehicle" means:
a motor vehicle of
unique or rare design and of limited
production that is an object of curiosity and:
1. Is maintained primarily for use in car
club activities, exhibitions, parades,
other functions of public interest or for a
private collection; and
2. Is used only infrequently for other
purposes.
NOTE: There is nothing saying what you can't do here, just infrequently (hence NOT a daily driver, NOT "you cannot ever end up at a grocery store"). The language is intentionally vague, those looking for an exact specific list of everything they can and cannot do WILL NOT receive it because it's about common sense and general guidelines...If you are not comfortable with that then don't get this insurance.
REGULAR USE VEHICLE:
You must own a "regular use vehicle" which must be insured by a separate insurance policy which must be in effect for the
entire time this policy is in effect. In no event will
this policy serve as your only auto coverage

Occasional pleasure use means the vehicle is:
1. Used for activities consistent with and related to participation in vehicle exhibitions, vehicle club activities, parades, leisure/pleasure drives, or maintenance;
a. The following uses are not considered leisure/pleasure drives:
(1) As your principal means of transportation;
(2) As substitute transportation for a principal means of transportation;
(3) To or from work; (unless properly endorsed with the Occasional Commuting to Work Endorsement)
(4) To or from school; or
(5) For business or commercial use.
2. In transit to or from, in attendance at, or located at the temporary lodging of the named insured, not to include a residence premises of the named insured, during
overnight vehicle exhibitions, vehicle shows, vehicle club activities, leisure/pleasure drives, or parades; or
3. In transit to or from, or located at a repair/restoration facility for service or restoration related function(s).
"has anybody noticed that, even now, not one single person has posted they have an actual printed copy of the policy even though each customer gets one at the start and at every renewal."
I am not sure what the point you are trying to make is? pedricd said that in his "key fact sheet" which means he was either sent it through the mail or digitally. I then said here is my copy and showed a photo of my policy that I took at home.

This is what was mailed to me by
American Modern when I renewed in the spring.
Includes nothing whatsoever about usage or any of the above information.
