My 91 six speed convertible is approaching 200K and needs some cosmetic work. Mechanically it needs nothing, but it does need paint, new top, and the sawblades refinished. I will do the work myself this Fall/Winter, but I have two questions.

1. The fiberglass tail and nose replacements, what has been your experience with them? I really want to get rid of the waves of the OE units.

2. I love the C4, I think the convertible especially has a very elegant look about it. But in my opinion the front end leaves something to be desired. There was an old thread from 2016, "what a C4 should have looked like". The plan is to buy a fiberglass nose and modify it. Has anyone attempted these mods? I would love to see some pics of the process and final product.

I used fiberglass replacements for my 88 front and rear. I am a boat guy so glass is easy for me, but they are still alot of work to fit them. The impact absorbers had to go away in the front as it was near impossible to install with it in place. You also have to make your own brackets and drill your own holes as well for mounting....
Dont get me wrong, its fairly easy just time consuming.

I will tackle this project this Fall. The picture is from an old thread (well worth looking at), what my intentions are is to do something similar to this but maybe put some small turn signals at each end of the opening. The open snout should be helpful in cooling.

The red modified is similar to the ‘80’s C3. See the front of my 82.
Also, for a two-plate state, there would need to be somewhere to mount a front plate.

I like the look, for sure.

That is sort of the look I want but without the license frame. Might think of tucking the lower chin back a few inches. Here in Texas we are supposed to have a front tag but it has never been an issue. If you haven't looked at that old thread mentioned above it has some neat ideas that would work on your C3, especially since Louisiana doesn't require the front license.

This is a crude picture of what I'm thinking of, take a 91+ fiberglass nose, extend the opening to the middle, eliminate the license, and add some turn signals. Then fab some kind of additional air intakes to the radiator box. If a license is absolutely necessary, just extent the openings as far a possible and maybe lower the plate some. Again my apologies for the pic.

As for the fiberglass nose, which is the best manufacturer?

I usually hate it when people quote pics but I have to say, this is the sexiest nose for a C4 I've ever seen! I like this even better than the Callaway Aerobody nose. Can you post a link to the thread you found that in please? I see a project for later down the road for my 91.........

Looks cool. But legally you need to have some front turn signal lights.
