My '89 needs to get some new carpet this winter and I'm wondering if anyone has used OC Auto Carpets before?
I'm looking at getting the cutpile mass back. The prices seem decent but not sure if the quality is there. I did read one post by another person who said the door sill carpets they got were horrible and the customer support was crap....
Anyone else deal with them?
I installed a set of their carpets in my 86 last year and have no complaints. If you take your time and test fit carefully before you make any trims you’ll be fine. It helps if you’ve installed carpeting before but not really necessary.
I just did carpet in my 88 from Top Flight. Went with the cheaper stuff as I already installed sound deadening in the entire car. Fit was fine, and I have 6 point roll bar to deal with along with a custom dash/center console.
Advice? Lay all the pieces out 1st. They don't seem like they are molded to fit as there been in a box for how long, but they are.. I cant stress this enough. Once you see and feel how they go start to glue.. i use (for boats also) 3M Foam Fast 74 (orange). Works great.. take your time.. its not bad at all..
..And as far as quality goes I had zero issues.....good luck
Rock on!
Since I'm not planning on installing until winter, maybe I'll order up soon and pull everything out of the boxes and let it sit for a month or so to help with fit.
I bought all new carpets for my 71 Corvette from OC Carpets & paid $145 for 2 day shipping. I was on the phone with someone in the order department on a Wednesday & asked them if I paid for 2 day shipping, would I get it for sure on Friday. They said the carpets are made to order but can be made really quickly & get them out on time. I paid a ridiculous $145 for 2 day shipping because my car was in the shop & they needed to finish installing the carpet, so I could get my car back. They didn't ship it on time & it didn't come until late on Monday. Cust serv said it's my fault I didn't order it earlier & they won't do anything to help. The next issue, is the carpets weren't cut correctly & doesn't fit properly. The passenger side is short ¾" & sticks out under my center console. It looks HORRIBLE on my beautiful interior. They again say it's my fault & they won't do anything about it. Won't even send me the front passenger replacement because holes were cut for the seat bolts. They did say they'd give me $10 off if I paid for a new one. This company is the worst I've ever dealt with & will never get any more business from me or anyone I can tell about they aren't willing to help in any way! Ridiculously frustrating!
Yes, I did buy from them but didn’t have a great experience. See my notes in this thread. To get the same exact color & type, I was forced to buy from them again. I had to pay for the whole front set, even though I didn't need both. So frustrating! After all the crap I went through stated in my original post, I paid for the front set then they didn’t ship, so I emailed them asking why & they said they are on backorder & I'll have to wait an unknown time. I asked why was I charged when they were on backorder & their response was it doesn't matter. I have to pay for them in full & wait. I'd NEVER recommend them & won't ever buy from them again!
