Hood release cables as previously posted, and an Element fire extinguisher.
What are you thinking of doing with the fire extinguisher? THIS? IDK about you but I see fire, I pull over and run like hell. Hopefully, the car burns enough to be totaled. I don't own anything worth a trip to the burn unit or worse.
What are you thinking of doing with the fire extinguisher?...I see fire, I pull over and run like hell.
It's weird that this needs to be explained. You put the fire out.
If I did like you claim you would, I'd be the owner of 1/4 of the state of Wyoming. Out west here, it's getting to the point where if you burn it, you own it. So....you need to at least TRY to put your own fire out.

IDK about where you are but this summer, I have seen 3 burned cars on the road. Besides a semi and boats, more than 90% of vehicles I have seen do not come with fire suppression system or a mandate to maintain one through the life of the vehicle. Even my Jetskis that require one don't have any inspection so I could have one from 20 years ago that is empty and all they do is eyeball it if I am stopped by the DNR.
How many cases of people being even sued for their car catching on fire and damaging property have you heard of? If you are running something really exotic, I could see a case. If not, what you are asking is that instead of running away from the fire hazard, I stick around, fumble for the extinguisher, open the hood and possibly create a backdraft situation, stand 3 or 4 feet away and try to kill the fire without being killed or injured. If that is the case, I think I'd rather be tried by 12 than carried by 6.
Rear hatch / window extender stays in my car year round.
Was driving on the highway one windy night with roof off.
Strong gust of wind blew me 6 feet over with the hatch closed.

Zero. Fire dept, county, whom ever the governing body is for the fire that you started, charges you for the damages (fire) that you are responsible for. No law suits necessary.

OK. How many such cases are you aware of where I'm driving down the road, the car catches on fire, does some damage and the governing body charges you, sends you a bill, etc? I have not heard of one yet. Again, if you run a flamethrower out the back of your car, all bets are off.
PS. Why do I get the feeling that you aren't as stupid as you sound and you understand the question but don't have an answer that you can give to prove your point?

Aklim, it happens frequently. It happened in three fires (that I am aware of), just this summer, here in UT.
One was a person target shooting....started a fire, nearly burned several homes. He could have been criminally charge too, but called in his own fire and avoided that.
One was a "bad catalytic converter" that started a fire near OUR home....came close (w/in 3/4 mile) to burning our entire neighborhood. We were evacuated from our house for 4 days.
One was an equipment operator tracking an excavator to or on a work site, struck a fire from the tracks on rocks.
IDK how "stupid" I sound to you, but this is a real thing....so who is the "stupid" one, here? I doubt it is a "thing" if you live back east -which may be why I sound "stupid" to you. From ~Denver west, it's a different story.

You sound like you didn't understand the question when I have to believe you did. What you mentioned was all kinds of items but none pertaining to the real question which you either don't understand or pretend not to. So lets try it without the word plays and really educate me on what the law is.
1. You know of any cars that have a fire extinguisher in them from the factory? Last time I checked, none had.
2. You know of anyone who got made to pay for damage caused by their car going on fire through no fault of theirs's? Shooting, exotic fuels, stupid acts don't count. Yes, mayor, governor, dog catcher, fire marshall, etc hands you a bill, sues you in court, etc?
3. Know any mandate that makes me responsible, financially, if my car catches on fire and sets a subdivision on fire and I cannot and/or will not attempt to put it out without equipment and training? How many such incidences?

AMF, Figure it out on your own.
I did. You threw in a bunch of crap and when asked about it, well, no relevant information. When pushed specifically, this crap.. Perhaps, in future, I should have a mental note to stamp "BULLSHIT" on your posts to me and you accept that before you reply to me.
