Default Windshield leak

Are there any good c4 windshield companies in Houston Tx. area. Believe that windshield will need to be removed and reset.

Where is it leaking. Mine , 1993, never leaked till I had to have another windshield put in.
Mine was leaking onto the drivers side speakers. It wasnt the main big gasket, it was the one that is super thin that goes from base of windshield and up to the corner, under the metal trim. The trim is held together with little screws. And when they put the windshield in, they ripped it... It was Safelite..

Hi, Give Corvettes of Houston a call. I have not replaced my windshield yet, but when I called them last year they recommended a windshield place up in Spring off budde road/Sawdust. I called the windshield place back then and the person was very nice and knowledgeable about C4 corvettes.
Buy a good quality windshield weatherstripping, as it will probably need replacing if your current one is glued in.(I recommend corvette rubber brand.)
Sorry, that I cannot remember their name, but if you call corvettes of houston, could you please post the name of the place? Thanks.

C4 windshield replacement is not like any other Corvette and completely unlike anything today's windshield replacement technicians see in their shops now. I learned this when I had mine done a while back. Technicians who have prior C4 experience are hard to find. I would suggest searching the C4 archives for more detailed info and advice from jobs done in the past.

One of the reasons I have not replaced mine yet.
No leaks, cracks or stars but would like a fresh one

Greg Gore is 100% correct. I used to install automotive glass about 20 years ago, and helped replace the windshield on a few C3's and, if I remember correctly, two C4's, but a corvette windshield is not an every day job. At the time, I had never done one before, and I helped another technician who had EXPERIENCE with them. I assisted someone who had replaced these windshields. So I recommend phoning around and asking the glass shop for an OLDER glass installer -- someone who has replaced windshields in the 80's and 90's, and has done C4's before. I would avoid a younger glass installer because there are techniques to adjusting the weatherstripping so the roof and doors fit properly, and sometimes there can be surface rust on the pillars that should be ground/sanded away, and then primered by the glass installer before gluing the windshield back on. As mentioned, I did it 20 years ago and have forgotten many of the details and tips, but if I remember correctly some of the older installers are so good that they don't have to glue down the weatherstripping in all areas, just lay down a small bead of glue, or even put dabs of glue in strategic places on the pillar, so it's possible to remove the weatherstripping without damaging it, or remove it, and put in a new weatherstripping without taking out the windshield. Yea, C4 corvette windshields are a little different than the average car on the road. Anyway, hope that helps.
