I would recommend the K & N and a cut lid since you would eventually do that anyway. Or you could go with a cold air induction set-up. There are several available for under $300.00 Maybe you could find a used one.
I might still have an airfoil that you can have. I'll have to check to see if its still in dad's garage. I had to buy a new TB and the one I bought doesn't need it. I'll check tomorrow and get back with you. BTW, have you done the rest of the free/cheap mods?
First take off the frisbee. You don't need that thing. Second, I'd say go for some pulleys. An ignition's cool and cheap, but you'll want wires to go with that. Also maybe consider a computer chip. I found that the cheapest K&N filters for yours would be in the group purchase area. Another great mod is the camber brace. $156.25 including S&H, and it's a night and day difference.
Forget the AirFoil....save your money for something that will do something for you. The airfoil works just as good as a Type R sticker but you can't see it  Save you money for something that works :yesnod:

I have not yet taken out the frisbee in fear of messing it up. :D
A 1/2 in socket and 5 min of your time to lose the frisbee and theres really no way to mess it up. Pull it off, put the bolts back in and youre good to go. I understand its a good 10 hp gain for the ones with 10 lb frisbees. Mine was a 3 lb'er but every hp adds up and its free so what the hell.
