Default Carpet

I would like some advice on installing the new carpet pieces that glue onto the plastic covering on the center console.
When I removed the old carpet there was no holes in the carpet for screws, But I am guessing there probably was not a lot in the car at that time.
What has others done? Install carpet with plastic covering attached to the side console or Install carpet on a work bench and poke holes were the screws go and then install.
I have contact cement in spray can and a quart can so I could go either way.

Thanks

I'd do it on the bench. Then take a torch and a small punch and heat it up. Then from screw hole on back side put the heated punch through the carpet. This will burn a nice hole and keep the carpet from fraying from the screw. Hope that helps?

That was exactly what I was thinking about if I did it on a work bench. I believe this is how I will do it. This way the pieces will be done and waiting on me. It is to cold yet to mess with a car with a lot of plastic parts.
Thanks Hawkeye56
