Default Rear window vent bracket

I made a thing today.
All out of spare parts. Too easy. Maybe I should paint it black.

I'd be concerned about the glass banging down if you hit a bump.

Although I admire your inventiveness, I would also be concerned with your design.

This looks like a more robust solution:

Although it would take a few minutes to install and remove, it appears to preclude the bump-banging that I am afraid of. $43, but a rear window would probably cost > 10X as much...

That's gonna make a lot of noise and very possible damage. Are you sure?

Interesting, what exactly is the benefit of having the rear window open? Positive pressure venting with front windows down at highway speeds (anti-buffeting)? I believe the C4 pressure relief bent is in the driver's door jam. Anyone ever installed additional relief vents to handle more air flow?

You can actually hear your passenger talking when the top is off and a hatch vent installed

Yup..mine has been on since 2002, never drove without it. This past summer driving around I noticed how nice the air flow was through the car, both windows down, and top off. Even with how loud my car is, its still pleasant.

That's what inspired me to do mine. I haven't driven with it yet, but I'm hoping it will be good. Thanks for the idea!

I haven't driven with it yet, (snowstorm!) but I'm definitely going to keep my attention on that. I may have to rethink it if it turns out to be a potential problem. Thanks!

First bad bump you hit, the window will sound like it smashed down
Hope it doesn't break
