Considering the unavailability of the PKE fob for my 95, is there a recommendation for a keyless entry system that will be compatible with the stock security system? I have 2 original fobs, but they do not transmit. I am up to rebuilding them if there is a service for that.
There is a lady that rebuilds/repairs them, I believe she was on the engineering team when it was designed/updated. Bree @ C4Fob@yahoo.com is what I have written down, but I haven't had to get mine repaired.

Best of luck!
I tried to email her when I found your original thread last week but no response as of yet. Thanks for replying.
I was coming in here to ask where to get new key fobs. I have one that works fine, but it sounds like shaking a tin can with rocks on the inside. I was hoping to find a key fob that would lock/unlock the doors and the hatch...not even worried about the proximity feature.

You are not going to find a fob that will lock/unlock the doors by pressing a button. The system doesn't work like that, it is strictly proximity based, except for the hatch, of course.
And I'm afraid new fobs are just not available, no one is making them, and the supply has simply dried up.
Bummer... I was hoping something aftermarket existed because I didn't get one when I bought my car. Keep an eye on eBay, and on your local Craigslist, one will turn up sooner or later. If someone is willing to gamble on a used OEM remote and an unknown (to me) business, I came across this just now: https://www.keylessentryremotefob.co...utton-key-fob/

After doing a bit of Googling when I was looking for new fobs, I found out the system was unique from any other GM of the time.
I'll probably just end up getting a remote keyless system off of Amazon, and just toss the PKE fob I have in a box in my closet. The PKE system annoys me when I stand near the car with the fob in my pocket and it unlocks/locks the doors constantly. Not the system's fault, as it's doing what it's designed to do, but it means I have to step away from the car so it doesn't continuously engage the system.

Actually, it is easy to set the system to "off" for situations like that. Takes about 3 seconds. You do know you could probably sell that fob for $200, right?

Almost time to sell then. I have two (one new, one original from a '95) but the PKE itself is dead. After nearly 7 years, clearly I won't be fixing it anytime soon. $200 isn't all that bad. I paid about $125 for one a few years back while they were still available new. That's when I discovered it's the unit, not the fob.
Folks, be sure to test the head unit (owner's manual tells how) before spending big $$$ on a fob.
I will dig around for mine. Having them and finding them are two different problems. Mine is the latter. They've been sitting for a very long time - somewhere.
