Getting my ‘95 ready to pass inspection. Tonight I replaced the inner passenger side tail light bulb as it had been out for awhile. Go to check the rest of the lights and I notice a few marker lights out and my front passenger side blinker isn’t working, the arrow on the dash stays solid. All other blinkers work and the hazards all work, even on that side. All other blinkers and lights worked prior to me replacing the tail light bulb. What did I fry?
Did you put an led bulb in by chance? The stock blinker requires a certain amount of current flow through it to trigger the “blink”. Led bulbs do not do that and you need a solid state/digital blinker or just put a regular bulb in.
If it is not an led bulb my guess is it is the wrong bulb/wattage?
I also see you mentioned the side bulb, I believe the circuit really doesn’t like led bulbs there and causes more issues than just the blinker.
She’s all topped off on blinker fluid! The bulb I put in isn’t LED it’s just a Sylvania Longlife 2057. When it’s just taillights on, that one appears brighter than the rest. Hazards all work and bulb seems normal then. When right blinker is put on the two on that side and front blinker stay solid, arrow on dash stays solid as well.
Both sides use the same blinker. Do you have a helper? You may want to see what happens when the brakes are pressed.
It may be pulling too much wattage then? If you pull the bulb I assume it blinks just fine? At least this is easy to test… I’d consider a cheaper bulb just to try it.
Also if these are truly the rear tail bulbs putting one led in wouldn’t hurt a thing as the other bulb would be enough load for normal blinker.
Maybe your blinker is marginal, you could always swap it out with a solid state…
