A lot of the aluminum under the hood on my '96 has corroded. Looks like it's been stored wet several times before I owned it. I'm thinking about cleaning it all up, and painting it with epoxy.
I'm interested in comments from anyone who has done this. I'm mainly concerned about any problems with the computer overheating if I paint the housing.
Both my alternator and my OBDC cover have a protective eurethane or varnished coating on them. I didn't apply it, so I'm not sure if it was factory or not. It has held up real nice on my '94 - So I don't think you'll have any overheating problems.
