I took my '92 out yesterday and it was a little chilly so I tried using the heat. I have the electronic heat/AC control. I pushed every button and the selector module differently changed from defrost to upper vents to lower vents.I never had any heat come out of the lower (feet) vent, just cold air. When I got home, I opened the hood to feel the heater hoses going to/from the heater core. They were both kinda hot, I could put my hand on them without burning them, unlike the radiator hose.
Could be. The hose to the heater core should be both "too hot to hold" after you have driven it for a while. If the core was clogged, one side would be warmer (hot in ) and the other side would be colder (hot out) as it is not circulating.
Although messy, the easiest way to check you core condition is to un attach both hoses and blow air/water through the system. If you have movement you are good. If not, you have a "how do I unclog a heater core" new post to write. (think compressed air)
