Easy CD Player Installation
Like a lot of us with the factory Bose AM/FM/Cassette, I've looked at having a CD Player installed in my '90. All of the installs I saw were rather expensive and, IMHO, didn't look as good as the factory unit. Several days ago I saw a neat wireless transmitter at my local Radio Shack. It's called an "irock! Wireless Music Adapter".
The adapter is small (about 2"x3" and 1" thick). It has a short cable that plugs into the earphone jack of a portable CD Player and has a selector switch that allows you to select 1 of 4 FM frequencies as well as a on-off switch. It uses 2 AAA batteries.
All you have to do is pre-set the selected FM frequency on the car radio and turn on the adapter and the CD Player. Sounds as good as your FM radio. I just sit mine on the passengers seat or it also fits between the console and the passenger's seat if you have company. If you use batteries in your CD Player rather than a power cord to your lighter the installation is completely wireless and can easily be moved to other cars. The volume, bass and treble can be controlled by your radio controls. Adapter costs $29.95.
According to the package, the company has a web site and complete operational instructions at http://www.myirock.com :seeya
P.S.: Just want to add that it works for MP3 and tape players also.
