1995 corvette wheels flaking
I have just purchased a 1995 corvette. I noticed the rims are flaking/peeling and had some kind of clear coat, any suggestions on how to fix or remove.

Flaking or peeling
This can be done with chemical strippers. It will take the clear coat much quicker than the silver paint which I think may be a powder coat and much tougher.
Once the clear is off, then you have a choice to reclear or not.
If you do not, the wheels may need a quick detail or hand polish occasionally. Without the clear, the wheels will look a little brighter too.
If you do reclear them make sure the material used is top quality. I used a rattle can and it looked good for about 2 years and then started to yellow, so I don't recommend that. A paint shop may have better paints and be able to spray it well, but it will cost more.
Good luck.
