Default Sensor and vacuum

Hello everyone im pretty new to the site so forgive me please if this has already been discussed.
I am rebuilding my LT1 in my 93 C4. I'm not new to engine building but this is my first LT1.
so as im removing the heads I had to remove a sensor on the passenger side header area near the spark plugs, I am unsure as to what this sensor is, any help would be great. Also on the back side of the head there is a thin metal line that goes from one head to the other. They were not attached to anything so I am unsure if they are vacuum or part of the cooling system, being so thin I would say vacuum but I am not sure, I have ordered a shop manual but its still over a week out and I want to get a head start on ordering parts any advice and or help would be greatly appreciated.

Coolant temperature sensor. I think your talking about the crossover pipe that attaches to each head. Can you post a picture of the pipe?

The pipe is an air bleed from cylinder head to cylinder head.

Thank you for the information, I really appreciate it, the crossover was really messing with me, after I saw what you and WVZR-1 had said i looked up air bleed and sure enough that was it.
