We’ll I drank the kool-aid yesterday and bought a new C8. I’ll be selling my C4’s. Very mixed emotions about the whole thing. I bought the white coupe new and it has been a wonderful car. We just took it across the US last year on RT66 from Chicago to LA. My black coupe I just punched in February as a project and I’m almost done with it. Someone will get very cool cars!
2020 Corvette of the Year Finalist (performance mods)
C4 of Year Winner (performance mods) 2019
The C8 is a great car, I absolutely love mine. But, I recently also got back in a C4 (ZR-1) because I wanted something with a clutch/stick manual and that was more raw and rowdy. If I could only have one, it would definitely be the C8. I don't know if your C4s were manuals, but if they were you may find yourself missing that engagement with the car. If so, try driving the C8 in manual mode all the time, I've found this makes it much more enjoyable/engaging.
I don't see myself ever warming to the c8. I don't like the mid engine layout, and HATE that it doesn't offer a stick. If I'm gonna drive something without a stick, it may as well be an SUV or truck. I don't care if it's faster, has better gearing, all that... Just not enough of an event for me.
