Default Question on option codes

What is the purpose of the option code sticker in the center console?

When these cars were built, did someone at the end of the assembly line check the build sheet or this option-code sticker to make sure that all the correct options/configuration were on the car?

It was meant for service and warranty work...not for us obsessive types who need to know everything there was about our car's history....

Default Tells the DNA

The RPO codes list the components used in each Corvette including paint and interior colors. I always consult it when buying any Corvette. On C4 auto models, I always look for the 3:07 differential. These codes are each Corvettes DNA.

Thanks for your repsonses.

When a car was built, how did the workers assembling it know what options to install? Was there a build sheet that traveled with the car down the assembly line? Did someone at the very end of the assembly line check that all options were correctly put on the car according to the build sheet?
