Guess I should have done this sooner, I've posted several topics without properly introducing my current project. This is an 85 4+3 with less than 60k on it. It's missing the Doug Nash but everything else is there. I originally bought the car to part out since it didn't come with a title but I'm inclined to get it going again if I can get the title for it... It was really cheap at 1500 for the mileage and how complete it is. So if you see post from me with tips and tricks or questions, it's for this 85.
What are you going to do about the missing transmission?
Ill try and find one which will be easier said than done. I don't want to put an automatic in it and am not interested in upgrading to a different manual. I may have a line on one at a local junkyard.

I've got the one I pulled from my 85 if that falls through. Has approximately 95K on it.
You'd have to get a new TV cable for it though. I sold that part to another forum member a while ago.
You need to find out what your state does with " Ownership in doubt " cars. Here in Washington State we a 3 year waiting period till a Title can be made. If you can figure out the previous owners name and contact them its in there best interest not to have liability on a car they no longer want. If you know somebody in the Towing business they can produce a Title in as little as 21 days. They will Impound it, have it inspected and then auction it off with a Title. Oh and if you feel the need for a road trip as far across the country as you can go I have the Trans you need.
Given the mileage, I think it was a good buy. I'm really hoping you are able to get a title for the car. Its a beautiful car and would be awesome to restore it! Do you know any of the car's history?
I know you're not in Michigan. But I was able to get a guy fill out a form for a lost title. Just a printed piece of paper with the
vehicle information on it. I then took it to the Secretary of State..which is our version of the DMV. With that info, I was able to
get the title and get it switched over into my name. It was very, very easy to do. Well, everything except for getting the guy to
get up from his couch and actually fill out the paperwork. That took some poking and prodding.
If that was my Corvette, I would be bothered until I had a title in my hand for it. It is waaaay too nice to not have a title for.

I'm new to Florida and originally from Ohio and titles are hard to get in Ohio. I think from what I've been told I can get a title based on a bill of sale down here, similar to what SpiderRpm mentioned in Michigan. I really need to drill down on this.

It is a nice car, don't know much history other than its been repainted, it had a more modern transmission put in it, its from Maine, the guy got tired of it and gave it to his brother whom didn't really want to bother with it. Its sat dormant for at least a decade... The RPO tag shows its pretty low option other than glass top which isnt present and the leather interior. Was hoping it'd be a Z51 but no luck.

This kind of sounds like what they do here in Florida. The guy I bought this from declined to part it out and said its too nice and did not want to sell it to someone to part out despite that being my original intentions. He specifically said here is a bill of sale and you can get a title off of this and at the time I really didn't care if I could but now I do because I'd like to not part something out that is a good car. So on my end I just need to see how easy/difficult it is to get a title...

I appreciate that and yes it is a very nice car and needless to say whatever the title status may be it won't be parted out, it may end up being a track car but I won't let it be parted.
