Default Clutch Help

Has anyone out there had to change their clutch and flywheel and found that the DMF setup is obsolete?
Well I did and I put in a Carolina aluminum flywheel and clutch kit in and I telling you I can not get that setup to act right to save my life. When taking off, it act as if wants to stall or you are trying start in 2nd gear. Now if I want to do a burn out every time it seems to act fair.
Please somebody out there tell me you have some experience in this type situation and can offer some advice.

Did you put in a stage 2 or otherwise upgraded clutch?
Did you ensure the balance of the flywheel was correct for your motor?
Did you install the shim kit in the ZF6?

Two things

1) Clutch disc material
2) Did you check the pedestal height to ensure they were actually level

Well.. aluminum flywheel is much lighter than the DMF…combine that with an aggressive disk (?) and you may need to use more care and throttle to get going….

Did you do the work? And lastly make sure your brakes aren’t dragging .

I found the same regarding the dual mass flywheel years ago when I replaced the clutch in my 94. I took the advice of a few forum members and used an o.e. style clutch kit made by Valeo and I scuffed the flywheel surface very well with red scotchbrite. It took the glaze off amd worked very well. I did make sure the rubber damping material was still good before doing so.

In regards to your aluminum flywheel, it is much lighter and as such, will require more engine speed for a smoother take off. This makes smooth take off require a bit more finesse and as such, take off could be more chunky so to speak, especially if a more aggressive clutch disc and pressure plate are used. Some applications seem like an on/ switch when the clutch is released. I wasn't a fan, that's why I just used my original flywheel and went with an o.e. style clutch.

With the solid flywheel, did you get a sprung disc?

The stock disk has no springs, but must be used with a sprung flywheel (dual mass).

If you used the unsprung disc on a solid flywheel it will make the initial takeoff difficult to do smoothly.

Sorry I had to all day yesterday and didn't reply sooner, but here it goes.
I got the sprung disc, with a solid flywheel.
I can't find out what material it is made with.
It is a stage 2 clutch from Carolina clutch.
No shim kit installed, that was not a good idea, it makes a noise when you are idling without clutch pedal engaged.
And lastly the brakes are not dragging, yes the flywheel was balance to the engine.
It works but just seems like the grab to go isn't just right and its aggravating when everybody around thinks you are wanting race with your engine revved up
