Which alternator?
Hi guys, new to the C4 party... Was curious what is the standard OEM amperage and what alternators do you recommend for replacement to my '84? I'd like to get a bit more power then whatever the OEM has. Thanks for any advice/help!

I would recommend two things.
First look for place to rebuild it, cheaper then new one, cause it's the diodes that fail.
Second if you going to replace buy OEM, try Rock auto I believe they have a good warranty.

I keep thinking 84-85 was a unique SI one at 108A or something, but I went with an upgrade to CS144 in my 86 when I yanked the stocker.
