My rear window has a clear film that is coming loose. Where it is no longer there it is hazy. Can anyone tell me what to use to remove the haze? Also can anyone tell me how to remove the rest of the film which is still intact.
Ugh. Just had to remove the peeling tint on mine a few weeks ago. Get a good razor blade scraper and at least a dozen blades. Then open up the elbow grease and git r dun. Sprayed goo gone and Windex on it after the film was off to get all the residue off. Planning on getting the whole thing UV ceramic tinted once my project list dies down some

Be careful of your defroster wires. The wires themselves and the coating on top of them. Personally, I would use a heat gun to soften the adhesive as I go.
I had a tint shop remove the film/glue from the rear window in my 96 Corvette. The orange lines remain - is the defrost wiring in the glass or were there wires glued to the glass?
If the wires are not inside the glass and are now gone, is there a replacement kit available for the wires?

Thank you -

The wires are on the inside of the glass. A tint shop should know to not damage the wires. I don't know of a kit to replace them.
Steamer ,the steam and the heat loosens the glue makes it easy to remove the same for old tent. that is what they use at the tent shop .. I watch them do it .. So went home did the same .. Decals same steamer ..
Thank you - If the wires are on the inside of the glass then all is well!
The rear defroster wires are on top of the inside surface of the glass, they are not inside the glass itself. Try them with your finger, you should feel them. If your tint was on the outside surface of the glass then removing it could not effect the wires.
Aren't there 2 connectors in the wires? Haven't looked myself for a decade. But if there are you could test if the wires are still good with a multimeter. Check continuity between the 2 connectors.
