Default How do you remove this clip ?!?

Salute, and my question is this please. 1989 corvette here, and does anyone know HOW to remove this clip from the windshield wiper motor in the photos ? I THINK it's the wiper motor. In short, I'm not getting any fluid out of my windshield wipers. I hear a clicking when I press the windshield wiper switch, but no fluid comes out. I changed the windshield wiper switch, checked the fuse panel on the passenger side, detached the rubber hosing for the wipers, blew air into it, and air bubbles came shooting out of the wiper fluid reservoir, so it doesn't look like there is a blockage. Now I want to check the clips attached to the wiper motor to inspect and clean them, but cannot get this one clip off. I lifted that little black latch, pressed down on it, jiggled it, etc, and it won't come out. I have never detached it in the the 25 years I have owned the car, so I wonder if it's seized in there, but any instructions on the CORRECT way to remove this would be GREATLY appreciated ! Thank you !

Push down firmly here with a flat head screwdriver...

...while simultaneously pulling outward on the connector with a pair of pliers:

It's only this little tab (and some age-induced friction) retaining the connector:

Had a similar issue on my 1996. Wipers worked but no windshield fluid. Did you check the fluid pump at the bottom of the washer fluid tank? Mine was seized up. I had to remove the bottom side panel on passenger side to access the pump connections (similar procedure to the driver's side when replacing a battery).

WOW, very helpful advice Ted1996 and RPO Joe ! THANK YOU for the detailed photos and instructions on removing that connector, Joe. Those pliers are a great idea ! I couldn't have asked for a better answer to my question, and thank you for letting me know about the fluid pump at the bottom of the washer fluid tank and how to access it, Ted. I didn't know where it was, and it could be the NEXT place I have to check AFTER I remove the connector...big salute !

If your wipers are working, thet motor is fine and that has nothing to do with the washers not working. Checkout the washer pump as suggested. And look into the washer fluid tank to make sure it's not all full of gunk at the bottom to block the fluid flow into the pump.

I greatly appreciate the advice, Mrlmd ! And I was able to remove that connector, Joe. Thanks again ! I still have no fluid coming out of the wipers. Moving forward, I'm going to look at the washer fluid tank and do some reading in the forum about HOW to remove and replace the washer fluid pump, IF it comes to that. I hope it's not too difficult to remove the pump. Salute !

UPDATE: I started this thread because I wasn't getting any washer fluid out of my windshield wipers, and needed some advice on removing a stubborn clip from the windshield wiper motor. Thanks again to RPO Joe for the phenomenal pics and instructions on that. See post # 3 ! So with that in mind, I found a used washer fluid tank with the motor on it from another 1989 vette, removed the wheel well on my car, etc, replaced the broken one, and that FIXED the issue. I now have washer fluid coming out of the nozzles when I activate the washer fluid, and I can hear the washer pump running. I don't know if it was the actual washer motor that failed on mine, but it certainly had a rusty, corroded connector ! See the pics below, and thank you all for your help and patience with my questions. Salute and God bless !
