Please note: I started another thread and my question about the starter relay in a 1989 corvette was answered at the link below. The question basically dealt with WHEN does the starter relay click or energize -- BEFORE or AFTER cranking the car -- and answered in post #13. Thank you to IHBD, et al !
a simple 12v test light on the small wire at the starter will tell you whats going on. the small wire at the starter should light the test light when the key is in the crank/start position. if it lights up, then you know you are getting power from the ignition switch to the starter solenoid. if it lights up then the switch and wiring is ok on that part. again i think you have a vats issue. but do this test before you touch anything else. this problem should have been diagnosed and repaired in one post. i feel bad you been upside down trying to fix this. its painful to watch.
I appreciate that greatly Erikszr1, and I made a note of it ! For anyone interested, my original question about the starter relay has been answered in post #13 at the link below. Salute to IHBD, and thank you all !
