My 1994 C4 has gotten me in an accident. For no reason the ABS system activates and the brake pedal goes right to the floor. It usually happens when I am coming to a stop sign or red light. The last time it did this I rolled into a Lexis and did some damage to the Lexis. Strangely enough there was no damage to my Corvette..I figured it was a bad sensor so I pulled the fuse for the ABS so I could drive it and not worry about getting in any more accidents. I took it out for a drive and it still did it again. What else do I have to disconnect to disable the ABS so I can get some use out of the car before winter settles in. In New York the ABS does not have to work to pass inspection. What else do I have to disconnect to eliminate the ABS system?
Welcome to CF! Whoa, thats a bit of a problem you got there. I went a few rounds with the ABS in my 96, but yours is a little different I believe. At first gance though, ID say your infor a mechanical ABS "delete". How are you at plumbing?

I'm not very good at plumbing. If I am reading you right I will need to remove all the ABS equipment to insure this condition stops. Thats a little above my pay grade. I will have to find someone qualified to take on that task. Thanks for the possible solution.

Your problem isn't an ABS issue.
When ABS activates to prevent the wheels from locking up during a panic stop, the pedal does not go to the floor.
If your brake pedal is going to the floor, you have a fluid issue.
Either air in the system, or some kind of leak. The leak could be internal to the master cylinder, so you may not actually see the leak.
