Last week was driving in very hot Florida weather, car engine temp when to 135 caught in traffic
pulled into Walmart parking lot to cool it down
after shopping came out an it would not start.
replaced the fuel pressure regulator, that did not work
Pressure at the rail is 30 psi
possible fuel pump ?? any thoughts ?
I'm no mechanic so please no abbreviations
Thanks for any help
We did replace the fuel pressure regulator and a new fuel pump assembly still no luck
how do we check for spark ?

This'll work.... In-Line Spark Checker (harborfreight.com)

Or... pull a plug boot and stick your finger in it while someone cranks. (or an insulated item like a screwdriver and hold it close to the plug)
Make sure there are no fuel leaks when you do that one though!

To perhaps oversimplify, it needs air, fuel and spark. Most likely air is not the issue. What did you find when you tested for spark?

You can pull a plug wire off, put a small bolt in it, and hold the bolt almost touching something grounded like the frame, the block, etc. Have someone crank it while you watch. If you have spark it will be visible and audible.

If you have spark, try just a bit of ether. If that gets results, you're not getting fuel to the cylinders.

we have replaced the fuel pump and sender, new fuel filter, new fuel pressure regulator
Pressure test was 30 psi and just a slight stream of fuel out of the clear hose

we sprayed into the air intake and car fired

Yes I know don't throw part at a problem, but these were all cheap.

Son and I are not not mechanic's but he's talented
what does the fuel pressure relay do on the firewall ?
Now I'm at a loss.
