I tried that not too long-ago UPS SIGNATUER required, my buddy I sent the parts to < were is my stuff ?? checked the tracking was delivered my bud says I didn't get anything I said Well UPS said he singed for it, not only did he not sign for it he didn't get it, found they lied dropped it off at a UPS drop off in his town and nobody signed for it took a week to find it ,UPS tracking said was delivered and signed for ,just BS Sorry I don't trust any of them ..
They won't take the money from the seller if it's proven that they did their part be sending with tracking. Sellers are protected too!
The tracking number should provide some history as to whether the package was delivered or not, I had an issue with an Ebay buyer years ago who claimed that he never got the package even though the tracking number said otherwise, Ebay sided with me the seller
I feel that one of the biggest problems is that, "tracking" doesn't show the destination address!!! I understand that this may be for "safety" or whatever....But, if as soon as you are provided the tracking number, you could log on to that carrier and instantly verify the destination...you would know if something is wrong immediately and at least have the peace of mind it's addressed correctly!!! 2 of my last 3 eBay purchases toured the country before coming to me....USPS for both!!! News flash, a package that originates in Ohio, doesn't need to go to Los Angeles to get to the Dakotas...and a package mailed from Missouri, shouldn't go to Houston to get to the Dakotas!!! They wonder why they have to keep raising their prices! Side note....all the stuff my wife orders from Amazon...1-3 days, tops...never once has there been an issue with shipping...go figure👍

Your story reminds me of 2020 when I was working at the cracker plant in Monoca, PA. I had my wife send all of our tax documents to me so that I could prepare our income tax submittal. I was tracking it on both the CP app and the USPS app. I got the notification it had arrived and went to the local postal office to retrieve it. I was told "It's not here, it's gone to customs at JFK." When I asked why, since my tracking had notified me it had cleared customs in Burnaby, B.C., she couldn't tell me. Even though she was the one who said she handled the package, I got the classic answer for the time, "It's all because of the pandemic. Customs must have asked for it." WTF did the pandemic have to do with my package being shipped off to a different state? When I contacted U.S. customs, the agent said she didn't know what the postal cleric would be talking about as customs does not "request" packages from USPS. For two weeks, I got a notification every few hours that my package had arrived at a different New York city location. It went round and round until finally, my pleading with the PA postal manager got him to "intercept" my package and it was there the next morning.
USPS has many good people. Now with the job perks and benefits going downhill, you get the **** you pay for. There’s a whole new wave of them hired under lesser benefits. So many now are **** employees or straight thieves. I know of one local office in NJ where two employees were stealing new check deliveries. You know when you order checks and they come in that green plastic bag? They were writing other people’s checks out to pay for things. Both doing federal time now.
I always thought USPS paid well. The regular letter carriers here at my shop and at home are long time employees. The substitutes are crap. Our home delivery is normally right around noon. Lately the mail haa arrived after 6 pm. I talked to the carrier and she told me so many people called in sick, most of the carriers were delivering 2 routes. My prescription insurance wants me to use their mail order system. No way!

It was a great job especially if you didn’t want to go to college or learn a trade. I don’t think so much anymore. It’s a job now like anything else. Not the career path it used to be I don’t believe. I’ve pretty much seen the same with all delivery services now. When I was a kid, I saw the same UPS driver every day. Guy was awesome. Now no matter who delivers what it’s a different person every time.
