Not sure if this is the place for this, but I wanted to share some crummy customer service on eBay lately. I ordered a set of oil pan bowls from Alloyboltz (seller). They were shipped and said delivered. When I checked my mailbox they were not there. Now, I doubt they were stolen as all of the other mail was there and my wife works from home. I reached out to the seller telling them what happened. They said check with the post office. I did and they had no explanation as to what happened. All they could said was it was scanned out front but couldn’t say if the carrier actually placed it in the mailbox. I again reached out the seller and basically he said tough luck and wasn’t going to do anything. If this was a $1000 dollar order, ok. But, this was an order for $30 worth of bolts. I ordered a replacement set from a more reputable seller and would not recommend doing business with Alloyboltz.
Just because you were given a tracking nbr doesn't mean that they were addressed to you. I have had that happen before and I filed a dispute with Amazon and the guy at the UPS terminal told me the actual address that they were delivered to. The PO takes pictures of every piece of mail and they can tell you where the package was addressed to and delivered to.
File a dispute with eBay, the card you paid with and the Post Office. If you go to the PO, print off the communication of the tracking number and ask them to verify if the it was delivered to you or somewhere else. For it to be flagged as delivered, it had to be scanned.
I have to wait three days to file with eBay and plan to. I tried to explain to them that just because he scanned it doesn’t mean he put it in the right box. I’ve had this happen before. The business were just complete jerks with their snarky responses. They acted like I was trying to scam them out of $30 worth of bolts. I can’t wait months for the PO to figure out what the carrier did with them. Just absolute garbage customer service.
There's way better choices for 'purchasing'!!! You chose poorly this time!!! BUT looking at their sales history they certainly seem to do a very good job! Maybe it was your 'attitude' during the conversation!

Blaming the seller is wrong. They provided a tracking number and sent the item. What else do you think they should do for you? Packages get lost and it's not the sellers fault. You should have filed the claim right away after the package didn't arrive. Ebay will take care of you.
I have been buying and selling on eBay since 1998. UPS, Fedx and the USPS service leave a lot to be desired. Their tracking is not as good as it was just a few years ago. You should file a claim thru eBay.
Shipping anymore is hit or miss, UPSP is the worst, had UPS tell me to look around the Neiborhood see if I could find my stuff .. I stopped selling my extra parts WHY shipping SUCKS ..and anymore and the price for shipping crazy .. I wanted 9-days for a part coming from Tamps Fl. to Birmingham Al 9 days after it was shipped about a 6-hr from me .. I am sure the parts sellers are tired for trying to figure out where the shipper might have delivered the stuff did, they deliver the stuff. I just stopped shipping anything .. Driving to Houston from Birmingham Al to pick up a part this week. I need this and the who knows deal if it will get to me or not, I'll just go pick it up ..SAD.

it takes at least seven days to file a claim with eBay. USPS insures the packages for up to $100 which the seller would have to file a claim, I cannot. My point was the seller was a complete dick and refused to work at all with me. Heck, I would have bought another set for half off and meet him middle of the way. When I first messaged him about it, he accused me of trying to get another set for free when I asked what do we do with no mention of another set. All the sellers I have dealt with always work with the buyer when there’s a hiccup, but not this guy and he was just a complete jerk.
A little update, after several days and talking to a supervisor at USPS, they finally found the package. Not in my mailbox as the seller claimed, but they found it in the warehouse in a puddle of water all mangled up. The carrier scanned the package at the mailbox and didn’t hand it to my wife as she was outside at the mailbox when he was there. He must of realized it when he got back and threw it somewhere hoping no one would say anything. In my opinion they’re useless since they’ve been sitting in water for days. I have already ordered another set from another seller that appears to be more responsive. My point being with all of that was I just wanted to seller to work with me on this and not accuse me of trying to scam him. I would have met him in the middle if needed. This guy was just a complete jerk and had no consideration for the buyer. He definitely lost my business and I’ll be sure to spread the word. 99% of the sellers on eBay are usually fantastic when something happens and want to keep the customer happy.
I had some bearings shipped from Florida via USPS that went on vacation to Hawaii before coming back to Ohio. Another set took a side trip to Iowa before coming to Ohio. I recently sent a money order 3 hours away via certified mail, it took 5 days. USPS certified is a joke. They won't insure sending their own MO's via registered mail even. A while back the PO destroyed a package and I had to get the local newspaper involved to get an insurance claim paid. The woman in Cleveland very much touted her PHD but when you talked to her, you could tell she was thick as a brick, either that, or her job was to obfuscate and such until you just gave up and the stupidity was a ruse. I think both.
A employee at our local PO said that the current Post Master General has set them on a 10 year plan and its going to get worse before it gets better. They are closing post offices, he said some people might have to drive an hour to send something USPS. They are the only method private parties can legally ship firearms to a FFL holder for legal transfer or back to the manufacturer for repair. How can you trust them anymore ?
We used to have a delivery person (used to, I went to the PO and complained) that would rubber band packages to the mailbox for everyone to see. (out by the road). Fortunately I didn't have anything stolen before that was stopped.
We are seeing failing institutions along with everything else.

Seller's resposibility is to ship the item. Buyers often provide wrong addresses too.

USPS as well as others are pretty bad sometimes. But once a seller ships the item, they are at the shipper's mercy.
If a seller uses Ebay's shipping and tracking says it was shipped and received, the seller is off the hook. Ebay takes it from there. The buyer files a claim that they did not receive the item and ebay will ask the seller to prove they shipped the item. If they can through tracking, Ebay will refund the buyer and that's the end of it.

I don't know where you're getting 7 days after confirmed delivery, but not true. After confirmed delivery and you don't have it, there is nothing stopping you from filing a claim of not received item
Ebay has a 100% money back guarantee for buyers. All he has to do is click the link in his "my ebay" that says he didn't receive his item and ebay will take the money from the seller and give it back to the buyer. You do have to wait a period of time depending on what category the item was listed in.

They won't take the money from the seller if it's proven that they did their part be sending with tracking. Sellers are protected too!
It all goes back to USPS inability to scan the packages as they are required. A few weeks ago the postman picked up 2 packages from me. He scanned them when picked up. One was scanned at the local depot the other went un-scanned for 4 days. Just when I was afraid it was lost, it was scanned at the post office in St. Pete Florida about 1800 miles from my home!! It was a ground advantage shipment, so it should have been scanned in Denver and at least one more place before it got to Florida. USPS tracking is only as good as the knuckle heads handling the mail.
Shipping and buying parts is not going to get any better ,was born into the hot-rodding life I am now 75 still Hot Roding, I seen a few years before Covid-19 more and more most of the people that starting answered the phone had very little auto knowledge just, what ya need I will send it ask a question deer in the head lights, I also noticed shipping was starting to slip as well ,after Covid-19 lots parts places going to ( if got question send E-mail ) when if ya do and have another question start over ,Shipping forget it UPS will take a pic of the package at the bottom of a door about two feet from the bottom and say ( your package has been delivered ) about the middle of the door is a big *** number why don't they take a pic of the door with the number WHY because ( we delivered it ) so it's on you if wrong door and you didn't get the package not them . One thing I see is some Parts places the shipping is way better than some other parts places using the same shipper ??? Jeg's for one ,can order something and very rare is not delivered within three days, some places want your business some don't seem to care, just pissed because it's turned into such a pain to get parts more, Post office if I call and try to order a part and they say: we use UPSP for shipping, next not happing .. Just venting
Pay extra for signature required. I just paid extra for shipping on a spare ECM and received some expensive parts, that had signature required. If they have someone else sign it, it is on them.
The little bit extra is worth the piece of mind and not having to deal with the dang aggravation.
