I just obtained a '87 convertible and noticed that it has a floppy rear end. The bottom part of the rear bumper is sagging slightly, and as I am highly OCD, this is keeping me up at night...lol.
Are there any quick ways to fix this...braces, stiffeners, etc., that will not involve removal of the bumper?
If it really bothers you lol. You can put a block of wood under it to push it into position, then heat it with a heat gun-don't overdo it and melt it, then let it sit and cool off befroe you remove your block of wood and see what you get-repeat as needed till it's where you want it.
Thanks, guys - will try both methods. Since I live in Arizona, I may just put a block of wood under that area and park it outside. No need for a heat gun!
Thanks again, guys...wood braces with heat gun underneath worked!
I used an extension tube from my shop vac and also a stand from my daughter's hamster cage for support...lol. Let's see if it holds up during the next week or so!
P.S. I know the mufflers are shot, so new ones are on their way too
