My girlfriend owns a C4, it’s in great condition and she really likes it but the speakers aren’t exactly working. Where do I start if I want to fix them for her? Her birthday is coming up and would love any advice that could help me get this done as fast as possible.
Is it a Bose system? If so it is probably the amps

As mentioned above, these amps are notorious for bad caps. Removing and fixing the rear amps is easy. Removing the ones in the doors, not so much. If none of the speakers are working, there is an under-dash relay that turns the amps on when you turn the radio on that probably failed. It happened on mine and replacing it, while not easy, is easier than fixing the amps!
If it is an 85-89 and it is a Bose unit, have a look at this thread. I is a large guide explaining the system and detailing the amplifier capacitor replacement procedure (and much more)

None of the speakers work? If it's bose, I'd be checking the amp relay before even considering messing with speakers. Unlikely every speaker has a problem
I've bought a '93 C4 last year, over all it was in good shape with 63k miles, I get a "pop" out of my rear speakers, its sporadic and I have no clue what the issue is, its a Bose radio, any thoughts as to what is causing this?
