That's the upper shaft for '84 - '89 GM part # 7829047. What is damaged with yours? Internal threads, external threads for the steering wheel retention nut or just what? There's maybe options.
Yessir 100% cracked but my steering wheel has play also that's why I started getting into my column hoping the play is coming from the pivot pins so I ordered over sized ones but now I'm looking at a new upper shaft but I did see some jb weld on the plastics inside that column so I'm thinking about a whole new column

Left right up down so I got the over sized pins coming in but ran into this problem taking the steering wheel off I seen it was cracked
If turning the steering wheel left/right and there's 'slack' then that would be an indication that you have an issue with the intermediate shaft coupling that's under-hood and goes from the steering column to the steering rack. It takes a second set of eyes or hands to confirm the intermediate shaft is the issue. A person to turn the wheel left/right and the other to observe the coupling at the lower column to rack looking for the actual issue.
I brought it to a shop for them to certify it and they said column ebrake seat and couple other things so I'm figuring out the column rn because that's the most expensive if I buy it out right but I don't mind trying to fix it myself to make things cheaper I ordered one part hoping it's it but by the sounds of it from you it's probably not that
I will check this all out tomorrow I'm hoping this is it seems like it could be the problem
If you actually end up needing the upper shaft I part numbered for you, a C3 is the same and there were many telescoping columns in early GM Buick, Cadillac, Oldsmobile that used the same upper shaft. If there's older junk yards with many GM products maybe you find locally! Many columns have been bought up for hot rodding builds.
