I purchased Clyde's Leather refurbishing kit for the LT4's Sport seats. The driver's seat has some brown staining. Have yet to read the instructions to familiarize myself with the step-by-step process. Looking forward to using the Preparer and Deglazing which is supposed to remove the factory sealant. Will begin the process sometime sooner than later. Hopefully the driver's seat and backrest will turn out well, and if so, then on to the passenger side. Will post follow up pics of the process. Once i've treated the seats, I'll evaluate if i want to have the foam replaced, as it appears to have degraded somewhat because both covers are kind of "baggy." I have found a reputable local auto upholstery shop that can sculpt new foam for the seat cushions.

Following up sfter using Clyde's 4-step leather restoration kit. 1st step is cleaner which removed the majority of the dark staining on the driver's seat cushion. 2nd step is plastic stripper, the rag i used to strip the plastic was somewhat brittle after the rag dried with the plastic debris accumulated on it from the stripper. 3rd step is the red balm, let sit 24 hours to cure. 4th step is the leather conditioner which has a really nice sweet smell, maybe bee's wax...? The leather doesn't feel glassy and as hard after the conditioner. I'm liberally coating with conditioner, there's definitely some dry areas, especially in the creases at the front edge of both seats and the formerly stained area on the driver's cushion where i imagine cracking could begin. I've really greased up the seams. I'll keep massaging the conditioner into the leather for some time. I'm sure once the conditioner soaks in, and i rub the remaining conditioner fro mteh seats, their surface won't be shiny; we'll see. Joining up with the Corvette guys Sunday to watch the Bronco's/Chief's game. I'm very happy with how this turned out.
Excellent work, Steve! Yes, even after the fact, your best bet is to keep the seams of those seats juiced up for a while. There will be a point where they kind of just saturate and won't take anymore, but this is a great way to keep this leather in tip-top shape!
Good job looks new, nice to see somebody trying the to restore the ORG. leather covers instead for buying new, the new ones very rare they fit like the ORG. ones .. Good deal ..
@matmondro@radar502 Thanks, guys! the 4-step process was really simple and easy. It's a good thing i ordered an extra bottle of stripper, as i used one for ach seat. They really did turn out nice and i'm glad the leather was in such good shape for being 31 years old I'm definitely going to keep greasing them, i like how the Clyde's grease smells.
Most all C4 vendors carry the new foam, Corvette Central, Zip Corvette, Top Flight. And the will sell the package with the new covers already mounted. When I priced having the new covers mounted on the new foam, a local upholstery shop that does a lot of custom work told me to buy the covers already mounted. He said he couldn't install the covers on the foam for what most vendors charge for the completed package.

My 91 has the saddle standard seats. Naturally the drivers is a mess. IIRC the vendors essentially install the covers on the new foam for little to no extra charge. There are several You tube videos with installation advise. I just don't have the strength in my hands to do the work.
@Vettemanjacck Thanks. I'd not done anything like this ever before. Following Clyde's 4-step instructions applying their products made the process astonishingly easy with a very rewarding result. The driver's seat is still drinking up their leather conditioning cream. The leather is slowly becoming more supple.
