Hatch won’t open from middle console button

Hatch won’t open from middle console button
On my 1996 LT4 I can open the rear hatch from the door button on the driver’s door but it won’t open from the button in the middle or console or the fob, it was working before and it suddenly stopped working. What could it be?

Ha. Mine's just the opposite. Door hatch buttons on both doors don't work but the center console hatch button does work.
I've been meaning to look into that myself but just haven't gotten around to it yet.

For a manual trans car, which the LT4 is, if the key is in RUN, the console button won't work unless the park brake is set. If the key is OFF, the park brake does not need to be set. I don't remember if the fob has the same requirements as the button regarding key on or key off, but I think it does.
