Default C4 1986 - Emission Label Missing for export

Hi all

I want to export a 1986 C4 Corvette to Europe. The car was exported to UAE and I am looking currently in exporting it to Switzerland. One of many problems is the emission label was removed and this is a important requirement to get it legalized in Switzerland. I tried mailing the EPA and they said GM is responsible for that since they build the car. However they dont want/cant do anything about it apparently. Is there a way to get a replacement label? Or has someone an idea? Switzerland/Europe (as you may have guessed) is very strict on emissions. The label basically proves the car was legal at this point in time and that what is important for the authorities here.

Best
Thomas

I would suspect your only option is to ask someone to take a picture of one and have it reproduced at a print shop. I can't believe the inspectors could tell the difference. Need the exact size. I sure can't believe there is a supply of new OEM ones. Dan

Is the car currently with you? There should be what's called SPID label on the backside of the console door. If it's there and the VIN matches the windshield and/or the Certification Label on the door at the door latch then post a snapshot of that. I believe that it can be determined the emissions build from that label. Here's a post that included a SPID snapshot. The link should take you directly to the post, but it was by the OP so just go to post #1.
