It’s $10 a gallon here. Don’t thank Iran, thank the dumb *** that is running your country.
I never bring politics into the forum but I'd rather pay $10 gal for gas than have a thirdworld terrorist country have nuclear weapons, and want to use them against us anytime they want. A country where half the population has no electricity, refrigeration, running water, indoor plumbing and sewage, and ride animals to work has no need for nuclear energy. Until I get a Mr. Fusion device for my DeLorean, I feel much safer with the "dumbass" running the country. Even though he doesn't really run it, it's the wealthy elites, and big oil that have been calling the shots since World War 1. I'll drop the political subject for now. Thanks for pushing my buttons. 😄
I have Bilstein shocks. Just some info for you. The lifetime warranty touted by Bilstein is NOT backed by Bilstein. It is backed by the selling retailer. I bought mine from Tire Rack. I had one go bad. Tire rack has a policy where if one goes bad you must first buy a new one at todays price. When they get your failed shock back you are only credited what you originally paid. It cost me over 75 bucks to get my "lifetime warranty" shock. I argued with Bilstein as the warranty does not say this. Needs to be a class action lawsuit. I would still buy Bilsteins. Dan
Manufacturing process is part of it. While the Z51 set up would seem to be more costly to produce it may not be. Plus supply of the B6 HD Package is in more demand. You can opt for the Sport Set which i around $80 less then the Z51's. All this is dependent on having the FX3 suspension. If you have FX3 expect to pay $400 for one front shock.
Anyone know why the bilstein shock package cost more the the z51 package $503 compared to $459
For what year and what source did you get these prices from?
This is from Mike Antonick's Black Book:
FG3 "Bilstein Shocks" was available for 1984 to 1988. Priced at $189 for all years it was available. Other than FX3 there are no other "Bilstein Packages" listed for 1989 to 1995.
The price for Z51 varied from year to year. 84=$600, 85, 86 and 87 Z52 = $470, 87 Z51=$795, 88 Z52=$970, 88 Z51= $1,295. (88 Z51 and Z52 included the "optional" 17" wheels and tires.) 89 Z51 = $575, 90 Z51 = $460 91 Z07 = $2,155, 92-95 Z07 = $2,045. (Z07 included FX3). I don't see where Z51 was ever less than $460 in 1991.
I drove my friends vette with Bilsteins on it and tried another's guys with KYB. I didn't notice a difference at all in the cars ride. I bought 4 KYB shocks from tire rack for $110 very happy with the ride. Saved myself $400 and they were better than my 30 year old AC Delco shocks. I don't drive the autobahn or get off the freeway at a hundred miles an hour. Most I do is drag race or have some straight line fun on the country roads. I'm using the money I saved for gasoline, now over $5.50 a gallon for regular. $14 for racing gas. Thanks Iran.
