Default LT4s

Have you guys notices a big interest in LT4s lately? Within the past year, I have noticed the LT4 to be the topic of many discussions here in the Corvette Forum, as well as in other forums on the internet.

Good to know! :D

People may be talking them up though but buyers still want them for next to nothing, along with all C4's (and C5's for that matter).

I will say this, my LT4 is a blast to drive (although I haven't since early November becuase of this @#$%^&* weather here - snowing again today).

I think it's because you got yours about a year ago. There has alwyas been an "aura" around the LT4's and what they stand for. One year production motor for the Vette, and very limited to the F body, less than 150 total.

NOPE !!! Lt4s go right along with all other C4s......mileage and condition has more influece than LT4 vs. LT1..........C4s are dead assets these days......it is outragous and sad, but wonderful for anyone who wants to get into one of the best sports cars in the world for a song.....and as was mentinoed before C5s in a sense too........it is the general used car market that is completely in the $!!tter......I am going to keep mine for a long time.....can't see what's better in a C5.....jsut look on eBay.....Corvette is one of the most offered cars there.....hundreds !!

C4's are dead assets??? If you buy new cars as an asset, you're always losing.

The year ago thing is on the money (unfortunately and pun intended). I bought mine a year ago and paid decent bucks. I'm thrilled with the car (1 owner, garaged, Blk/Blk, Z51, Dual Power Sports, Docs and just turned 20k miles last fall).

But, when I see people having to give them away for 15-20k for low mileage vettes in great condition, it hurts. :cry

And the flip side is, I didn't buy it as an investment. I bought it cause it's a great (kick-azz) car and I plan to drive it. :auto:

I wasn't necessarily talking about "selling" or the marketplace....I was just noticing a general interest in the LT4 out there lately. Many posts with questions regarding LT4s, GSs, and CEs. It just seems like there are many topics out there regarding these cars lately. :yesnod:

After 6 months of watching vette prices and reading everything I could on C4s, I believe any 96 vette will hold it's own in the future if kept up. I bought my wife's car a 1996 LT4 a couple of weeks ago because it will be a daily driver and I believe the LT4s will hold their value more than a LT1 with 70k plus miles.

But after driving this car I want another one for the garage to keep. An LT4 just feels like a different car than an LT1 auto.

my 2 cents.

Jan

Yea, I read an article(I think it was Car and Parts Corvette) and the writer said in his opinion that the LT4 power train(motor and trans) was one of the best ever put in a vette. I believe in the years to come this combo will be very desirable and sought after. He compared them to the big blocks of the 60's. I did not buy this car as an investment but I do believe that in the future these cars will bring good money but I'm not selling mine! Guy

I read that article too. Who knows if this will be the case or not. Regardless, the LT4 was made to enjoy!

Joe, are we getting tired of the weather yet? Just got mail announcing the start up of the Cruise Night at the Dutchess Mall in Fishkill on April 10th. Maybe they are talking snowmobiles 'cause it sure isn't going to be my car. At this rate the salt and sand won't be off the roads until July!!!! Keep the faith, it can't get much worse.

Weather here blows! Really screwing me up, messing with my time table, and just depressing the !@#$ out of me. Only good thing about it was I was able to finish my project (34 Ford) this winter. It's getting the timing and carb done at the local tuners and I'm taking it to the body shop for paint tomorrow. Can't wait! I need to drive my toys soon or you will read about me in the local paper.

I'm kinda bummed they moved the DC cruises to Thursday night. I work in the city and it's hard to get back up here at a decent hour. Gonna try to make a few after daylight savings kicks in.

Look me up!
