My buddy Chris is looking at a 88' Coupe to buy. It has 25k miles and is in mint condition with the Z51 package and a doug nash 4 speed. The guy wants 15.5k dollars. I think thats a little high and I told Chris that the 4 speed might give him trouble and maybe he should get an automatic or a newer one with a 6 speed. What do you think and what would be a fair price for this vette?
Thanks
The miles are great, but even with the Z-51 package, $15.5K is too high considering you can buy an early LT-1 coupe for that kind of cash. $12K would be a more on target for that 88. :troll
15K is way too high. I bought my 88 with 46K miles three years ago for 12K. I would not sell mine for less than 11K. New brakes F & R , tires, battery, flowmasters, computer in the three years. :auto:
I bought my '88 coupe last summer for around 10K. I only paid that much because the seller was throwing in the y2k rims and brand new michelin 275/40/17 skins. If it hadn't been for the wheels and tires, I would have only gone as high as 8K. Vette had 62k miles when I brought it home
I bought my 88 2 months ago. I paid $9,700. It came with a stereo/alarm system valued at around $3,000. It is in very nice shape, not immaculate but I think I got my monies worth.
I bought my 88 (4+3) Z51 (all factory options) 3 years ago for $13,400 (26k miles). Just bought a 95 auto 17 K miles for $17,500. But cars are great. 4+3 tranny offers no problems just use Mobil 1 syn. ATF. That 88 should still be going for $13,000
