So I go to the local inspection station yesterday during my lunch break; I get an hour so I figure I'm safe. Well after waiting for a little over an hour don't you know that this gung ho inspector fails my car for having a wiper blade with a half inch tear in it? He could've passed me and just pointed it out to me but nnnnooooo he had to fail my butt. So now I have to replace the wiper blades, which I would've done anyway, and go back to wait in line again for another hour so they can check my blades again. I was so friggin' pissed that I wanted to strangle the *****. Anyway, that's it; I'm done ranting.
I no longer live in Jersey because of the stupid inspection station BS. I had a 57 Chevy when I lived there and was failed because my Hurst shifter didn't have the SHIFT PATTERN o n the ****!!!!! .......... I had the Hurst T-handle with a line lock button in it ........ good thing the fool dodn't ask what the button was for.......... and that was before emmision testing ........ then they'd have REALLY had some fun shooting me down .!!!!!! :mad
the inspecter just did it because he probably drives a neon. i'm gald we don't have to deal with that stuff here in michigan. ahh, the motor city, where the air smells of burning gasoline from non-emission tested cars!

He was an A-hole. If I remember correctly, in NJ you go to a state inpection station, not a privately owned place. They have no friends. The good part is that they make no money whether they pass or fail you.
When I lived in New York you went to a private garage who passed or failed you. If he failed you he was the only one who could pass you. An a-hole there would find something else the second time if you didn't pay him to fix the first problem.
Every year my father paid to have his headlights adjusted so he could pass inspection.
Now I live in CA, they don't have safety inspections. If your car is out of spec on pollution they get get concerned. If you have no brakes, no problem??????

True..but look at our fair haired govenor. We have our own set of problems! :banghead:
The best thing here in Delaware that is different then when I lived in New Jersey is that I don't have to let some clown in my car to test the brakes or anything else.
Just one more reason I'm glad to be a former NJ resident. I remember the inspection stations all too well. All that and one of the most costly states for car insurance (at least 12 years ago).
I know its a pain, but when you replace the blade all you have to do is drive to the
reinspection idiot no more one hour wait. keep one thing in mind the State of New Joisie
has handed out the inspection gig to a private corporation, that is at the lowest bid $$$$
this private corporation in return hires the lowest paid inspectors they could find.
So here is the solution let the inspection people hire the united nations out of work
weapons inspectors. if they are as good at finding things wrong with cars as they are in finding bombs we will be ok.
