Definately coupe. Much quieter and more solid.

no contest, have had both. I'd rather have one convertable than 3 coups. You will find bias here because people own coupes already (and some really would prefer them, although i think it would be limited given a free choice) if you are looking to buy get a vert there is no compairison.

Hardtop here. Stiffer and quieter than the coupe. And it looks hot.

Convertible all the way. If I want speed, I'll throw on a hardtop. If its really nice out, I can put the top down and soak up the sun with wind in hair.

.....and if the ladies want to get more comfortable, they have more options with the vert. :smash:

Coupe for now, but if I ever go to a C5 I might go with a vert.

I want to do weekend getaways so it's a coupe for me. The converts loose any luggage space with the top down. Besides with the targa off it is nearly a convert anyways. I get the best of both worlds

thats vert and non vert. every penny you spend extra buying a vert you will get back when selling it. its like a free option.

Beside the obvious visual difference, its not the same. A convertible is a lot less windier or turbulent in the cabin.

IMO The coupe/convertible debate depends on the cars intended usage. The coupe make a better track car, better luggage space, the convertible make a better fair weather driver. I am a performance oreintated person, that being said I would take the penalties of the convertible (weight, price, structural) over a coupe any day.

'verts are fun, but you're safer in a coupe for sure.

I had a '93 40th Ruby Convert w/auto
Now have a '93 40th Ruby Coupe w/6spd
I went the other way, I had a '93 40th Ruby coupe/auto, sold it and bought
a '93 40th Ruby Convert w/auto.
Now thats gone and I bought a '93 ZR-1.

However, I like the vert over the coupe, nothing like have that top down. The targa to is to hard to take off.
But on the other hand I will keep my ZR-1 over either of them. :D

It all depends on what you want to do with the car. I have T-tops on my 79 and I rarely take them off. I have a hard top on my 93 now but once the weather gets warmer..I'll store it away till fall and keep it on the car in the winter when its stored. I love the convertible. Having a hard top..its the best of both worlds. In 15 minutes you can go from coupe to convertible :yesnod:

I love my Vert! Nothing beats the top down, open air feeling during nice weather. As far as storage, there is plenty of room for a weeks worth of supplies for two with the top down. I have no problem with interior noise with the soft top. Even with Flowmasters it is still easy to carry on a conversation or listen to the radio.

Coupes make great racers. Much safer and rigid for great handling. I'll have to get one of my own someday :D Hellooo ZR1!

Convertables - I love going toples, But you would have to to own a convertable. Almost no storage, Wind noise with top up, Maint of top alone is a pain. But for me it is all worth it. GO TOPLESS.

For what it is worth from an old guy with a fixed top coupe (63), a T-top coupe (75) and a ragtop (93), if I could only have 1 Vette :( , it would be a convertible. There simply is nothing to compare to a summer night with the top down.
