Anyone out there use Liquid Glass on their Vette? My Bright Red '85 Vette isn't as bright as I hoped. (Newly sprayed rear bumper now a slight shade brighter than rest of the car). I'll probably be having the entire car repainted after the summer. In the meantime I'm looking for ways and means to make my faded and darkened paint shine brighter inorder to get a better match of the color with the newly sprayed rear bumper. Any tips to brighten the finish would be appreciated! :auto:
I recommend some Mother's Clay Bar
Then a swirl remover/paint cleaner
Then the #7 Mirror Glaze
and then at least 2 coats of either the #26 or Gold Class car wax
I use Liquid Glass. Have not used it on the Vette yet, but it shines to a high mirror shine. I used it on my old car and my dad couldn't tell the difference between that and Zaino. I used Zaino and gave it to my dad cause of the hassle. Liquid Glass is cheaper and easier to use.
:yesnod: I use it on the Vette the wheels and the LT5. Not sure if it will bring back old paint you may want to try it on somewhere like a rocker panel first.
I use it and love it! The shine is incredible. Can't compare it to Zaino, but I'm soooo happy with this stuff that I don't feel the need to try anything else. I suggest you have the car buffed, clay it and then use the LG.

:iagree: I have been using LG since the Vette was new and it leaves an incredible shine.

this is the way to go if you want to try it yourself.
If you are lazy, like me, Patrick has the solution. I would let the detailer give it a shot.
Liquid Glass is a nice product, but you need to "repair" your paint 1st.
I used Liquid Glass on my Semi Tractor a few years ago, and I gotta tell you, it's probably the hardest wax there is. There aint nuthin gettin thru it once its applied. Thats good in one way, but if you're gonna use it, I'd sure use some kind of cleaner/color restorer before you put it on, because once it's on, any imperfections are there to stay for quite some time.
I USE to use Liquid Glass. One it's not a wax, it's a polish. It is easy to work with and I used it for about 5 years. What I started noticing was my paint seemed to be chipping a lot. (not this car) That's when I decided to try Meguiar's. My experience is Liquid Glass seems to harden the paint. It's extremely hard to get off once applied. Gold Class wax is a little harder to use (except if you have the polisher like I have), leaves as good a shine, and if you want to remove it, can be taken off with dish soap. It also doesn't seem to harden the paint and I've noticed less chips for what it's worth.
