I only have one code in memory and it says I'm missing the Cal Pac??? I'm sure it's in the computer, but I checked with GM and they are no long available for an 85! Is there something else I can check that might cause this code? Runs pretty well but won't go into closed loop. Might the code I'm getting cause it to stay in open loop? I'm kind of stuck, don't know where to begin to resolve this. Suggestions?
Re: Missing Cal Pac?? Error message (Gregory VanLare)
Hey man, I feel for you  I just went thru the same ordeal, and it sucks. I thought I was dead in the water. I'm not real happy about what I'm gonna tell you, because I got screwed over with some other stuff from these guys, but they did fix my problem with the cal-pac. Call Just Corvettes in St. Charles, Mo. at 1-800-886-8388. They sold me a complete ECM (including proms) for
$125 + shipping. DO NOT LET THEM TALK YOU INTO BUYING OTHER PARTS THAT YOU DON'T NEED, BECAUSE THEY WILL TRY
Re: Missing Cal Pac?? Error message (Gregory VanLare)
when I got this code (for chip missing), my chip actually came out of the computer. I pulled over and fixed it. I have a 90 and my computer is in the engine compartment.
It had a hypertech piggy back board that is a real PITA to keep in place. so much it comes with some cork material to help it stay.
85 is under the passeneger side dash, right?
I would go in there and get a peak to see if it might of been beaten out of place a little.
what exactly is a cal pac?
Does you eprom plug into that?
