No, not rebuilt. New. Someone is trying to tell me that Mercury Marine in Oklahoma builds the Corvette engine.
Mercury Marine built the LT5 engine that was used in the ZR1 Corvette. Lotus designed the LT5, Mercury Marine built it. It was a 32 valve quad cam V8, someone correct me if I'm wrong (not that ZR1 knowledgeable) but I believe it displaced 5.7L same as the L98/LT1's.
1995 was the last model year for the ZR1, 1993, 1994, and 1995 Z's sported 405hp LT5's. Earlier LT5's were rated 375hp.
All other Corvette engines are made by General Motors. Corvette engines, except the ZR1's LT5, are basically highly evovled versions of GM's venerable 350 small block engine.
