Gas Pedal

Does anyone know how to adjust the tension of the gas pedal.
It is too hard.

I thought that myself when I first got my coupe last year. You'll get used to it, unless you have a genuine problem. If it's the latter, I can offer no assistance, but someone else will help I'm sure. :cheers:

Hi Thanks for your reply. I've driven my Brother's 88 mine is a 86 and my pedal is much tighter than his. I'm more use to it but it is still a little jerky getting going.

It is most likely the thottle cable. My '86 kept getting 'stiffer' until it started binding in places. Replaced the cable and now it is much smoother.

It is supposed to be stiff to keep you from accidently giving it too much gas on take off. Unless it is binding anywhere I would leave it alone.

Thanks for your response. Inn the Corvette America catalog there are 2 cables. One is a Trans Throttle Control Cable listed price is $33.
The other is the Accelerator cable for $29. Which one did you replace and where did you get it? Thanks Jerry

This one's on my list of 'to do's' too. Started to look at throttle pedal connection today but had no time to remove the under dash and see how it works.

I love the vette steering after driving other cars but the throttle is hard work and I don't think it should be. IMO a car with a light throttle 'seems' faster/more powerful.

Hope this hasn't opened a can of worms.........

Wicked hard work everbody should have this problem Ha! :)
My brother has an 88 and his is nice and smooth. I tend to jump mine because it is hard to get it to move slowly. I'm going ot have someone look at it on Monday see what he thinks. I like it tight but not so much.
